Our product is an event-driven system built using Spring Boot microservices that are interconnected using Kafka and REST. We create rich models for our core domain that speak the ubiquitous language. Some of them leverage the traditional domain model, others are being implemented using the event-sourced domain model. We tend to decouple the most complex models from the infrastructure code using the hexagonal architecture. The portal is a React application that consumes our REST API. Our services are rolled out as docker images into a Kubernetes cluster in the cloud. The engineering team is self-organized where everyone is engaged in domain knowledge crunching and enhancement of the engineering processes.
